Léon, grand frère!/ Léon Big Brother

A tender and joyful game of hide-and-seek for little ones!

Through the timeless game of hide-and-seek, newborns begin to connect with others—appearing and disappearing as a way of becoming more aware of their own existence. Baby delights in sparking surprise, gentle worry, and laughter; in pretending to be invisible; and in the joy of being sought after. The wardrobe, a pile of toys, or even the cat’s basket—every corner of daily life can turn into a hiding place.

The game unfolds across 17 double-page spreads, alternating between scenes where Baby is (not very well) hidden and scenes where Baby reappears. With warmth and humor, Pauline Martin portrays a mischievous, playful child who never tires of repeating the game—reminding us how the simple pleasure of repetition helps little ones grow.

In this fourth book of the series, Baby goes to daycare. Daddy takes him there—after a short welcome time, Baby is ready to join the group. His familiar world is no longer just home; here, Baby has his own cubby and a coat hook with his name on it: Léon!

At daycare, Léon learns how to be sociable—living alongside other adults and children, overcoming little conflicts, and discovering new joys. With his friends, he shares games, meals, quiet moments, and activities that help him grow.
